ITST NewsSlow-Starting Djokovic_Fan Rallies Past Don in Wimbledon Final Written by Cro Morgan 10 Jul'10 - 15:18
Serbian Djokovic_Fan stumbled out of the gate but recovered well in advance of the finish line, dismissing rival Don in the championship match of Wimbledon, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 7-6. Djokovic_Fan didn’t bring his best game to the parched lawns of The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, but the game he brought proved good enough, claiming his second Grand Slam crown in four sets.
Don was hoping to kick-start his career by claiming what would have been his sixth career championship, but the pride of Poland was out-of-sync for much the match, falling to Djokovic_Fan for the fourth time in nine career meetings.
After his successful fortnight in England, Djokovic_Fan saw his season mark soar to 79-6. In addition to his finals win over Don, victories included a tight Round of 32 match with Sekir3000 (6-4, 7-6, 6-4), a Round of 16 schooling of Strejt (6-3, 6-2, 6-0), a straight sets quarterfinal win over Packos (6-2, 7-6, 6-4) and a surprisingly easy semifinal takedown of Agassi (6-2, 6-1, 6-0).
Don, 33-13, qualified for his fifth final of 2010 (no titles) by defeating Hashy Roddick, 6-2, 7-6, 7-6.
Djokovic_Fan, the World No. 1, is now the proud owner of 14 ITST championships, best on the tour.

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID
Don: “Djokovic_Fan played quite good, but way below his level. I played good in first set only. Later it was biggest crap on grass I played ever. I even couldn't hold leading 5-2 in fourth set. After re-break, after my double fault, I was done mentally. I guess we both were eaten by nerves, but he held it better than me, so congrats man” Tournament link: Wimbledon
